This policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit the public DLVirtual website or contact its operator. DLVirtual is an independent, non-commercial virtual airline for flight simulation. Membership, bookings and pilot accounts are provided through the separate vAMSYS platform.

3. Hosting and technical delivery

This website is hosted on a server operated for DLVirtual at STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. To deliver and secure the website, technical connection data may be processed, including IP address, date and time, requested resource, referrer, browser and operating system. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interests are reliable delivery, technical security and abuse prevention. DLVirtual does not use these data to create visitor profiles. Operational logs controlled by DLVirtual are deleted or rotated when they are no longer required for security or troubleshooting, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.

4. Browser storage

The website uses local and session storage only to remember that the cookie information and virtual-airline notice have been acknowledged. These entries are not used for analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking. Details and storage durations are listed in the cookie policy.

5. Contact by email

The contact form does not transmit information to the website server. Submitting it opens your local email application. If you send the prepared message, the data you provide is processed in the DLVirtual mailbox to answer your request. Depending on the request, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Correspondence is deleted when it is no longer needed for the request, subject to any legal retention obligations.

6. vAMSYS live operations

The live map and operations board retrieve read-only operational flight data from vAMSYS through a server-side API connection. The public view may display a flight number and callsign, route and airport names, aircraft type and registration, operational timestamps, network status, position and current flight progress. It does not display pilot email addresses or account credentials. Live responses are marked not to be cached, are not written to a website database and the API credential remains on the server. Processing supports transparent virtual-airline operations and is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Membership and account processing performed directly on vAMSYS is governed by the privacy information provided by vAMSYS.

7. VATSIM and other external services

This website links to vAMSYS, VATSIM, SimBrief, Hoppie ACARS, Instagram, Twitch, MyNextAirline and the Virtual Airline Alliance. Social and streaming content is shown using locally hosted images rather than embedded third-party widgets. No connection to those providers is initiated merely by viewing the local image. When you follow an external link, the terms and privacy information of that provider apply.

8. Recipients and transfers

Personal data is disclosed only where required to operate the website, answer a request, comply with law or protect legitimate interests. Some linked or integrated providers may be established outside the European Economic Area. Their own privacy information describes the safeguards used for their services. DLVirtual does not sell personal data and does not use it for advertising.

9. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
